God called you into the “Light”…. It’s YOUR Choice to accept, and your choice to “remain” in it!

1Pet 2:9Niv-“But you are a chosen people,a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”, …..

He calls you into light but you must choose to “remain in it”. And some do not… And God knew that would happen too…. Job 24:13Niv-“There are those who rebel against the light,
who do not know its ways
or stay in its paths.”…and God does not change.

Some think they can be saved without change of life style “remaining in the word transforms- you” (Rom 12:2) Like the branch stays in the vine(John 15:5)….. but if you do not “continue in” remain in…by your own desire for being near to Jesus to become like Him …who is the light. Then you are not really free…Yes Paul struggled with flesh (Rom7:23, Gal5:17-21)… we all do, but Paul did not fail to seek God to fight the war in His flesh, and gain victory by the Spirit of God, and he did not plan to go places he might fail !

God said His grace was sufficient! (2Cor 12:9)… His Grace empowers us… He strengthens us here now to overcome all power of the enemy! ! (Luke 10:19, Rom 8:13)

See this red ink. John 8:31-32Nasb-So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you” CONTINUE in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; 32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”… Sounds like God showed us what Job did not have, but God did not say anything changed did He?….He just provided the Word of God to see and learn from, and the Spirit of God to call on and help empower you to not  fail …To become like children of the light! (Rom 8:14) Job did not have that. God added it to us!…After the cross.

I can know what kind of tree it is by the fruit (Luke 6:43-45)…The one you remain in, is the one you produce fruit from! Just like Jesus said in Luke 6:44! And why we are told Eph 5:8Nasb-” for you were formerly darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord; walk as children of Light” … God knows your heart, and like Job  we know it by your fruit, it tells on you! Might even fool me awhile…but you can not fool God He looks at the heart.

And so this unfortunately will happen to some… Jesus said so…Mat 7:23Nasb-“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.”… So can you choose to play with the dark, and say I am of the light??
I think you better stay in the narrow road like Jesus said, or you are being played a fool by the devil! For those who pretend to be of God, whom you should remember can also look like angel of light too! 2Cor 11:13-14…Will not enter Kingdom of God.

Jesus said there is only one way we enter the Kingdom of God to enjoy eternal life.

Mat 7:13-14Nasb-“Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. 14 For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.”… And you get to chose to follow Him here now in this world, to get there with Him to His Kingdom latter… He does not make you. He gave you freedom to chose (Gal 5:1);

It is a CHOICE made by you, ….or it is not love that “causes you”… to “choose” to obey Jesus.  (John 14:15).. It says “if” that is a choice.

Jesus ONLY wants love with Him for eternity, and we are given choice to show that love here…and rewarded to go there with Him, and led by Him on a narrow path to get there…Do you “seek” to remain in it? And “continue in” the light, His light on that path? Or allow yourself to make excuses for mini trips into the dark? …You always make a choice.

Yes…YOU do have a choice always given you, or we have to erase this word to the church given through Paul !

1Cor 10:13Nasb-“No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.” ….
And John14:23Nasb-Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him.” … Choice is for children of the light… not the devils children of darkness. … “Choose you this day whom you shall serve.” (Joshua 24:15)… God did not change. (Mal 3:6)

Jesus became the door that we might escape the darkness, to be translated from it..into the light..the Kingdom of His son! (Col 1:13) We are not then allowed to go back to play in the dark, acting dark!…But to work there overcoming the dark by the True light! And light always overcomes darkness! John1:5Niv-“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”…There is no such thing as a little dark with a little light mixed in!

It is clearly a choice where you stand. You are  in the world not part of it… So choose… because your fruit always tells on you anyway!

Mat 6:23Nasb-” But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!”… Your the only one deceived if you think it is acceptable to say I am Christian, and choose to allow yourself to live opposite of His word.

Just because you go to church, or give money does not fix things with God.  Just like sleeping in a garage does not make you a car! I do not judge you..But God will…I only inspect fruit to know you, just as I was instructed to do as a child of light. (see Mat 7:16).

Why? So that I can overcome darkness with Truth, Grace and Love! All of which are from Jesus our light given “us” to NOT ever be in darkness again !…

John 8:12Nasb- Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will ‘not’ walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.”

And why would Jesus say that I need to judge your fruit ? To bring “you” who I see is in it, out of darkness into His marvellous light!! (1Pet 2:9) So you can do (1John1:9) and repent to change direction and receive forgiveness of sin!  …Not by me…but by me just sharing light of His Truth… giving you the word of God…His words of life… that rebuke, correct, and train in righteousness.(2Tim 3:16 ) So that you can “choose” to walk right!! … Or not…It’s still your choice. But remember “if” you love Him…then there is going to be obedience.  And previously you read that Jesus said so.

Think about it and then… Walk clearly in the narrow road and stay in the light!   Pastor Ernie Harpster

I obeyed Jesus!…Why am I in a storm?! Why did God let this happen?…. Did I do something to deserve this! Is God mad at me? …Psst! Hey God IS NOT creator of confusion!… So read what Peter did!

Why am I in a storm?…. I was doing what Jesus said to do…right?? Why did God let this happen?? Is God doing this to me? What did I do to deserve this?  I bet Peter thought all that too, as he was bailing water out of the boat he had been told to get into! I bet Peter was little “confused” as Peter and his friends had obeyed Jesus right?, and left without Jesus as told!… And  Jesus had only told them go to the other side in the boat! Read this story told in Matthew 14:22-34;

Jesus did not EVER send them to the storm but “to go the other side” … The devil brought the storm to hinder, and detour their “intended” path that “he could see” they were on. And Peter knew how to navigate a boat over this lake very well as a fisherman, and had dealt with storms his whole life as a fisherman… So he would usually feel safe in a boat..and “self confident” on the water.

And Jesus had never told Peter before, to go do anything in a boat that did not happen for his good before… So what happen this time…what was different ?

I’ll tell you…. This time it was not about Peter…it was about who was on the other side! And so that we who can now read this story, can learn that without Jesus “we” can do no thing! (John 15:5)

The really cool thing I notice is Jesus was “already” walking out to them …He was not on shore waiting until they called for Him. He was there right on time to do what was needed!

And when the question arose from Peter.. Lord if it be you? Then bid me come ( Mat 14:28 )… Peter the only fully humane known to ever walk on water, got out “on” the promise of the voice “he recognized”!…BUT notice… He did not “ask” Jesus come get in MY boat! Think on that! And He was a fisherman! He trusted boats of His choosing! …But this was a crazy storm!

But Peter was only one who recognized that if Jesus said it …then it was always possible, and more importantly …. “It was ALWAYS better to be in the presence of Jesus than be in “any” place of security of His own choosing! ”  Think about that… Even if that is OUT on the water, without a boat in the midst of a storm!

So here is Peter the only known human to defy law of gravity and walk on water…and it says he only “started to sink” and could still utter the words help me without gurgling water! And Jesus who,was ” incarnate presence of God” as Word was God and Word became flesh! (John 1:1, vs:14)…and so Jesus fulfilled the words that NEVER change! …

Isa59:1Kjv-“Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:” Then Jesus placed Peter in the boat, and THEN got in with him… “for the others he had also sent”…..Bringing “His faith” to “their assistance”! To fulfil the words spoken! … “Go to the other side” as God intended them!

Jesus does NOT speak to send you…and then see if He can “tempt” you to stop…. because the word always sent is fulfilled!

Isa 55:11Amp-“So shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to Me void [without producing any effect, useless], but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”… Peter was learning to trust…That If Jesus said it…it will be!

And it is against God’s nature to tempt you! James 1:13Amp- “Let no one say when he is tempted, I am tempted from God; for God is incapable of being tempted by [what is] evil and He Himself tempts no one.”….You must know that about God YOUR Father!

And settle it now in your mind and heart! Do not forget it!  Because you never know who may be waiting for YOU to arrive on the other side of the storm “sent” by the devil!… As the wind was “against” them (Mat14:24) Why? To keep “them” , or you from God’s intended plan for you to “walk” in!! (Eph 2:10.)

God never changes! Mal 3:6, And Jesus never changes Heb13;8… And Holy Spirit is “sent” to be WITH you always “forever”! (John 14:16 ) He is already SENT to be “near you” … in you! (Gal 4:6)…to be your deliverance “over.”.. EVERY weapon formed.. “against” you! (Isa 54:17) The devil “formed waves” by a contrary wind “against” them…. And Jesus kept the enemy “under” His feet! Hallelujah!

And Jesus “helped imperfect Peter” do the same! Teaching Peter only rely on Jesus, and what a “little” faith could do, and also Jesus go in boat…So “they” could “ALL” get to the other side, just as He told them ALL to do! Thank you Jesus! You never change!

Lord help me get to the other side so I can “introduce” someone else “who is waiting” to know the “presence” of the “peace” of Jesus, that is always there WITH you in YOUR storm..Why? To “KEEP you” (John 17:11-12 red ink) walking out His “intended” plan you read in Eph 2:10! And WITH all power OVER the enemy! (Luke 10:19).

Don’t let the devil “convince” you, (or confuse you) ..that your “under” the circumstances, or that God did it to you!…With Christ in YOU…You are a Child of God, and that makes you an OVER come’er!
Seek to stay in the presence and you can always walk over those weapons formed against you!
Jesus will always be there to hold your hand to fulfil His plan for you (Isa 41:13)…..

Stand on ALL the promises that are yes and amen! (2Cor 1:20) And then notice that God “His nature, the essence of who He is, and how He “ALWAYS ” acts” for His chosen and never changes!  Like His word He never changes…God, Jesus, Holy Spirit does not change! … Like Peter you can hear and, recognize the voice… Jesus knows you!! (John 10:27 )

Therefore you can walk it out!..Just follow His directions given you! … Go the way He says…But remember He said this too!… in THIS world you will have trouble…But be of good cheer!!  Why? LOOK!  ….

John 16:33Amp-“I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]” …

And we are reminded again in 1John5:18 Amp! Says.. Shall not harm you!  Amen!  And God is never the creator of confusion but of Peace! He said so! For us too!(1Cor 14:33)

So You CAN always keep walking confidently …. even in a storm! Just…

“Walk” clearly on the narrow road…. And stay in the light!  Pastor Ernie

Single again Christians…Truly adultery Can hurt real deep…It’s destructive….But so is Unforgiveness.

Hey Singles… and Single again Christians… Adultery hurts deep, and it destroys relationships….And sadly this type of destruction of a relationship happens to often these days, (worse it even happens at times among church leadership) and forgiveness is a hard thing to “give” others at times… But learn this: When I forgive others; Forgiveness ONLY frees “me”…not them.

If I forgive them, it allows me to move forward and be truly free and not grow bitter! If I allow root of bitterness grow, it causes other fruit to hang around I don’t want too! (See Eph 4:31-32) When I’m walking in “forgiveness” toward them that harmed me, now their sin that caused me pain, has no more place in my emotions, or mind.

In cancelling the debt we felt was owed us, we let them go, and now they can be dealt with by God…not by me or others trying to make them accountable.( Only Holy Spirit convicts of sin)  But I can NOW go freely and get what ever I need from God, and that past thing with them is over.. I forget it, Like God…not forgotten, but meaning that I just don’t need to ever bring it up again.

Unless of course they accept the forgiveness and also seek the same “from” me.
Then I “could” have restoration of fellowship;  But forgiveness, although always required by God, does not necessitate, never “requires fellowship” to be restored with them as well. ( Sometimes we can not. )  Giving forgiveness only makes me healthier, and in fellowship “with” God….always my primary relationship concern as a Christian. And always God’s main concern  with us!

And maybe my “action” of “giving” them forgiveness, (even if they never ask me too ) may allow them to see their “sin” and repent, and recognize their need for God’s love …which is the only love that never leaves you or forsakes you. And He is the only one that fills the void in the heart which drives people to seek love in all the wrong places, from all the wrong people…. Hell sadly, will be full of these people…unless they can see Jesus (in us) and also turn to Him to receive forgiveness of their sins from Him!

UNforgiveness is the ONE thing “we” can control and hold on too, that can “keep us”  from holding “everything”, that God wants to give us, …”when” we let God be in control. (Mat 6:15);

ALL love is of God and when your in relationship with Him…He is faithful forever, He will always love you, always accept you, and always forgive you. When you do things His way, He takes care of you completely and protects you… and He is your integrity… and protector of it that too. (Psalm 25:20-21; Psalm 37:7-9)

I would personally blame a husband more, who allows himself to take advantage of a temptation that avails it’s self to him, which brings harm to his bride and his family….And definitely himself! As God says He is being led to destruction, which any man with a wife, already KNOWS he will be in mega trouble if caught! He was not ignorant of the potential cost, he can see it coming, and so he tries to hide it, or cast blame on everyone else when found out…Besides God said your sins will always find you out … But the husband ( or the spouse allowing this) realizes and sees what is coming…
Prov5:4-6Nasb- “For the lips of an adulteress drip honey
And smoother than oil is her speech;
4 But in the end she is bitter as wormwood,
Sharp as a two-edged sword.
5 Her feet go down to death,
Her steps take hold of Sheol.
6 She does not ponder the path of life;
Her ways are unstable, she does not know it.”…..

But notice God says the adulteress woman walking her way and leading the man to destruction is deceived, it says she really “does not know it.” …He only “acted” ignorant…she was truly blind. But I must forgive them both to receive everything I need from the Father and then decide if I can, or should restore the fellowship, or just move on to receive the best God has planned for me.(Eph 2:10) apart from them… (It is always our choice to walk in God’s plan…or take a detour!)

And I should really feel great sorrow for both participants in adultery; Because Hell is: “Eternal” place of complete separation from God, in a suffocating, burning blackness forever. I would not wish it on even my enemies no matter what’s been done to me.

The reason the disciples were able to take the punishment they “all” did, and in the end be killed for teaching about Jesus even to “their enemies”, was because they had personally known Jesus, and they saw Him ascend to heaven…and therefore knew Hell was also a certainty. Except for Paul who met Jesus personally, seeing Him as light and hearing Him. And received His Holy Spirit sent from Father.  And so they all gave their lives to help people avoid hell… Meaning they also had to forgive a whole lot of hurtful things done to them. (Mat 5:44-45)..Says bless your enemies, do good to those who persecute you. …So that you act like children of God.

Forgiveness allows you to say good things, and do good things toward your enemies… to “bless them”…even those who harmed you deeply and personally. Allowing them to see God’s work is real. And hopefully stopping their feet from taking hold of Hell. “Sheol”. …A very real place.

Because I know hell is very real, I can forgive them and move forward…. “forgetting” what lies behind, and looking at what lies ahead”. ( Philip 3:13) Paul wrote that, the Apostle who  “Jewish historians” believe might have been divorced as well;
“But Paul himself never mentions it in the bible.”… Maybe it’s because he understood forgiveness and learned how to love his enemies….Uummm

It’s like the old saying goes …If you cannot think of something good to say about someone, don’t say anything at all.

So make sure you have really let go of what you “feel” was “owed you”,.. You know you have forgiven when you don’t think of being somehow repaid; Then you can use both hands, and ALL your heart to chose to receive everything that God wants you to walk in!… What’s that?

Gal5:22-23Amp- “But the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the work which His presence within accomplishes] is love, joy (gladness), peace, patience (an even temper, forbearance), kindness, goodness (benevolence), faithfulness,
23 Gentleness (meekness, humility), self-control (self-restraint, continence). Against such things there is no law [that can bring a charge].” …That’s a lot of good stuff from God! And go read (Deut 28:1-14) bunch more good stuff!….ALL that along with eternal life in Christ, and heaven as our kingdom home with OUR Father God!

I “see” that as, Waaaay better than hell! And why can I talk about this?…I think, cuz I am divorced (2008), a single parent; And because God did not ever leave me in the pain, but helped me forgive. Then He went and made me a teaching pastor,… seems like mostly to single adults. God still takes evil and turns it to good when we let Him…Like Joseph…Now there is a lesson on giving forgiveness, letting go, and receiving blessings from God! Gen40-Gen50:26..Uumm. “For the saving of many people” …Joseph said that (Gen50:20 Kjv )

Joseph was a “single” young man threatened with death, tossed in a pit, sold into slavery, almost raped, then falsely accused of trying to make a woman commit adultery, and then cast wrongly into prison, but he learned to forgive and trust God always,… finally promoted to place of great blessing that included a wife and family. But first he had to “learn” that forgiveness kept him free in spite of his environment,, and that it can help save others.

Be Blessed; Stay clearly on the narrow road and remain in the light! Pastor Ernie Harpster
